Footwear: Sensible and smart black school shoes (no trainers, platform or heels)
PE kit:

It is a requirement of the National Curriculum that all children change for PE.

Currently we ask that children come into school dressed in PE kit on the days that their class is scheduled to do PE. The PE schedule will be emailed out to parents on a regular basis or when the schedule changes.

Ear studs should be removed or covered with sticking plaster for PE. Please provide a suitable container or a stock of plasters.

Infant school PE kit: White T-shirt, navy blue shorts and suitable trainers. Tracksuits will be required for outside games in cold weather.
Junior school PE kit:

White, black or navy shorts, white T-shirt (school T-shirt is optional) and suitable trainers. Tracksuits will be required for outside games in the colder weather.

N.B. Children coming from John Rankin Infant & Nursery School may continue to wear their old PE kit until they grow out of it.

Water bottles Children should have access to drinking water throughout the day so please could you provide a named water bottle that should be taken home and washed/refilled each evening.
Jewellery Children should not wear jewellery to school. However, children with pierced ears may wear studs. Watches may also be worn, but it is the child’s responsibility to look after his/her property.  Makeup (including nail varnish), dyed hair and “extreme” haircuts are not allowed.
Outdoor wear: Children play outside in a variety of weather conditions so please ensure that they have a coat, waterproofs, hat, gloves, scarf, wellingtons and a sun hat as appropriate.
Book bags/rucksacks: We recommend that children bring a book bag or rucksack to school. These are helpful for transferring letters and books to and from school.
Art: At the junior school, please include an old shirt in the PE bag for use as an art overall.
Care: Please can you ensure that you clearly name all items of clothing and property as this makes it easier to return lost items.
