Art, craft and design embody some of the highest forms of human creativity. At JRS, our high-quality art and design education engages, inspires and challenges all of our pupils - including those with additional needs, equipping them with the knowledge and skills to experiment, invent and create their own works of art, craft and design. As pupils make progress, they should be able to think critically and develop a more rigorous understanding of art and design. They should also know how art and design both reflect and shape our history, and contribute to the culture, diversity, creativity and wealth of our nation.
Artists studied at JRS include Giuseppe Arcimboldo, Pablo Picasso, Jackson Pollock, Peter Thorpe, and Kehinde Wiley amongst others.
Through our teaching at JRS, we aim to ignite a love of learning of Art that will see our pupils through to secondary school and hopefully beyond!
